Excel for Microsoft 365 Word for Microsoft 365 Outlook for Microsoft 365 PowerPoint for Microsoft 365 More...Less

You may have heard that Office is getting a new name and a fresh look! We know that you might havequestions, so we'll guide you through all the details.

You might know Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other apps as Office. In fact, they've always been part of the Microsoft 365 subscription, so we are simplifying the brand to reflect that.

The changes--which include the new name, colors, and icon--began rolling out on November 7, 2022. There is nothing you need to do, and the update is free. There will be no changes to your existing account, profile, subscription, or files.

It will take a few months for the changes to roll out to everyone. If you don't see the update yet, don't worry, it'll arrive on your account soon. Here are the updates you'll see:

  • Office.com changed to Microsoft365.com.

  • The Office app for Windows 10 and 11 is now theMicrosoft 365 app.

  • The Office app for mobile is the Microsoft 365 mobile app.

If you're using the free apps, including Word for the web, Excel for the web, and PowerPoint for the web, you'll still be able to use them. You canupgrade to a paid subscription at any time.

Even though most things are changing to Microsoft 365, Office is not going away entirely. Existing Office 365 subscription plans will be unaffected. And we'll continue to offer one-time purchase options, such as Office 2021, and Office LTSC plans.
