🧠 On #WorldBrainTumourDay we want to highlight the support available to our brain tumour patients at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.🩺 Jay was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2012 and has been through various treatments over the years. He has recently undergone 6 weeks of intense radiotherapy at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and was treated with CyberKnife, a state-of-the-art machine funded by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity which enables high doses of radiation to be targeted directly at the tumour with pinpoint accuracy. 🏠 Jay needed to go to hospital nearly every day for 6 weeks and living over 1 hour away, Stine’s Home from Home was a lifeline for him and his family through this extremely difficult time. Stine’s Home from Home offers brain tumour patients and their families free accommodation near to the hospital, eliminating the stress of having to find somewhere to stay during what is already a very anxious time. 💙 Jay said, “Stine’s Home from Home gave me peace of mind throughout my treatment. I didn’t have to worry about finding somewhere to stay or daily travel costs, and my wife and daughters were also able to come and stay. 🌟 They did it! 🌟🏃🏅Congratulations to Kira, Sohan and Jasvinder who took part in the Great Birmingham Run on Sunday! They have smashed their fundraising target and have so far raised over £1,600 for the Giles’ Trust – thank you for your amazing efforts and support!🩵 Following an accident in 2013, Kira received incredible treatment on the Trauma Unit at Queen Eliabeth Hospital Birmingham. The accident left her unable to walk, so taking part in the Great Birmingham Run is a massive achievement for Kira.🫶 Thanks to our superstar fundraisers like Kira, Sohan and Jasvinder we are able to continue going over and above for brain tumour patients and their families at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
