This document describes how to enable or disable Symantec Endpoint Protection on your computer. You may need to disable Symantec if you are unable to download and install certain software.

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ Browse the Uninstall subkeys in the left-hand pane, and check the values in the right-hand pane to find a value for the DisplayName that equals Symantec Endpoint Protection. Copy the uninstallation key.
Auto-Protect scans the file as it is written to the temporary folder and detects any virus or security risk. Auto-Protect also detects the virus if the user tries to save an infected attachment to a local drive or network drive.
Go to "Monitors" > "Logs" then select "Risks log" and click on "View log".You can then select infections and clic on "Command" drop-down list and choose "Remove from Quarantine".

Clicking the Windows logo in the lower left corner and scrolling through the left column will reveal Symantec Endpoint Protection. Clicking on the shield in the lower right corner next to the temperature will also launch the application.
Windows: Find Symantec EndPoint Protection in your Programs or quickly find it by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard and typing "Symantec". Or you can look in your system tray (next to your clock) at the bottom right of your screen.
