Fix sync problems with the Google Calendar app - iPhone & iPad (2024)

Use this page if events you created or updated aren't showing on your computer or in the Google Calendarapp.

First, try these common fixes

Follow these steps on the device you're using the Google Calendar app on.

1. Make sure you're connected to the Internet

To test if you're connected to the Internet, try doing a search.

If you're not connected, make sure that data or Wi-Fi is on, and that you're not in Airplane mode.

2. Check that you're using the Google Calendar app

To check that you're using the Google Calendar app, make sure the app's icon looks like this:Fix sync problems with the Google Calendar app - iPhone & iPad (1).

Next, check your device's app store to make sure the Google Calendar appis up to date.

3. Check that the calendar is visible

  1. Open the Google Calendar appFix sync problems with the Google Calendar app - iPhone & iPad (2).

  3. To the left of the calendar's name, make sure the box is checked.

4. Make sure new events are being added to your Google Calendar

When you create an event, check which calendar it's being added to. If it isn't being added to the Events calendar, you may not find it in the Google Calendar app or at calendar.google.com.

Next, try these troubleshooting tips

Try the steps above first. If they didn't work, read through these instructions on your computer while you try the steps on your device.

Note: The Google Calendar appsyncs past events up to one year.

Quit the app & reopen it

When you have an app open and tap the Home button, the app is closed but it doesn't actually quit.

To fully quit the app (and not just close it), double tap the home button at the bottom of your phone, then swipe the Calendar app away.

Remove your account, then add it again

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Calendar appFix sync problems with the Google Calendar app - iPhone & iPad (8).
  2. At the top right, tap your profile photo.

When you reopen the app, you'll be prompted to add your account again.

Uninstall & reinstall the app

  2. Touch and hold the icon until it wiggles.

  4. Reinstall theGoogle Calendar app in the App Store.
