This is the 2nd time the undying Grievous bug is still there and we didn’t get any compensation for the last time as well, I’m missing out now on total of at least 4 Zetas…

So, the event is bugged and it's just going to be ran again in the future... Why not just send everyone the max or min rewards for this one? It's only a drop in the bucket at this point. Can't imagine the value on just doing it this way is out of proportion... given all the LSBs especially. It's understandable that things get goofed up sometimes in game, but it seems stingy that the rewards (that aren't really huge) are withheld so tightly for way longer than necessary. Just comes across stingy given the amount of time + money the player base invests in their accounts.

At this point, it really feels like they don't want to set a standard of "gifting rewards" for their mistakes. Beyond that, they NEVER want to give more than they need to. Just like the Territory Battle not long ago where we all got locked into Geo TB and they shut it all down, they didn't give us any rewards outside of what we would've done last time.
It's a bad response. But I don't think any of us are ever surprised to know that CG is garbage at "make good" situations.

Why are you guys so salty? Running it again is more then fair. Not only will you get your missing Zetas... but also on top 20 Shards of Talzin. Thats more then the flat missed rewards. So whats your problem?

Seems like a dropped ball on this one. Instead of a “extra one” next time. How about just extend this one by 24 hours or something and ACTUALLY fix it? Seems like a better option for those who are Zeta crunched by shoveling money your way for Lightspeed Bundles and could use the 2-4 Zetas (not a whole lot. But it’s something) now…instead of what? A month or two later? Seems like the simpler fix would be extending the current time.

Saying that people have to wait around a month to get the rewards is a bit of a kick in the teeth.
Why?

I don't think anyone's " salty ". It' an issue / feedback that is small enough where doing something in favor of the player base isn't hurting anyone. It's not like they are a bank, and we are going to withdraw cash expecting more than what we ask for. It is imaginary currency.
Can't imagine how tough getting through the day must be if that is what being "salty" looks like, lol. With respect, of course.

This is all predicated on them having already figured out how to fix it without breaking what they were doing in the first place.
That's awfully presumptive.I'd wager the 're-run it an extra time when it runs next' is better for them because it gives them time to actually understand what went wrong and hopefully fix it properly.
That said, I do feel like they should be providing *some* rewards or make-good when the event ends.

Running it again is best for low level accounts who couldn't complete it this pass
Running it again basically means you get the same rewards you missed out on, granted, you are eligible to clear it this time
Don't see the issue unless you are extremely pressed for materials today and need it badly by end of the week

Extending it for a day right now would require a client update - and people already get angry when normal (read: expected) updates come during GAC attack phase which starts very soon. Aside from that, as someone else mentioned they may not fully understand what's going on and fixing it without fully understanding the problem may break something else that affects other parts of the game. As it is the effect is relatively minor, so taking the time to understand what's going on is probably a more sensible and cool headed approach.

Silver lining: all the posts of people doing stupid things to unkillable GG just for the fun of it is incredibly satisfying. multiple people getting slkr to billions of damage, someone with 200 stacks of armor shred, etc.
We have a great community. xD

Because for some folks (not me per-se), zetas are hard to come by. This might mean the difference between being able to apply a zeta before next week's gac lock in or not.
The bottom line is they think it's ok to delay rewards without any regard to how it affects the player base. And they never give us anything to make up for it, which just about every other game does when they screw something up.

If the bug was benefiting players they'd fix it faster. But hey, it only hinders us so, meh.

It’s always entertaining to me to watch the CG apologist squad ask why people are upset about the continuous screw ups and the blatant lack of concern about correcting them from CG. People are upset because bugs in updates are the expectation now and there’s no sense of urgency on fixing things. Oh, this event doesn’t work? Well, we’ll probably get around to fixing it by next month. You can get your rewards then but since you’re “salty” how about 20 Talzin shards in a month? News flash: most people are probably salty about the zetas. Personally I’m fortunate enough to have a good stash so getting them now or next month isn’t a big deal to me. What I do find aggravating is the frequent bugs and what looks to me like a general lack of care about them from CG.

I am probably either in the vocal minority or the silent majority but it strikes me as a reasonable solution to run the event twice next time around. And as someone pointed out, not only will we get the missed zetas but an extra batch of Talzin shards and I can always use more shard currency. Losing out on two zetas today is never my idea of fun but it is a pretty trivial loss. I’ve gained much more than that in entertainment value playing with unkillable Grievous. Those unhappy with CG’s solution should pray they don’t alter the deal further… and swap those two zetas for two CWC shards.

They are giving us 20 MT shards, which is not nothing.

"CG apologists" as you call them bring balance to the force.
For the record though - I don't know that it's necessarily fair to clump Sdtbarbarossa into that group.

I love his light-hearted threads. We all knew it was broke, why does he need to be super serious about it? And why would
The team is aware and investigating the bug in the Defense of Dathomir event
mean that CG cares more?

Perhaps not in general but in this case I think it’s justified. His dismissive tone towards people who just want the game they play to run correctly is a bit much imho. What would bring balance to the force is an apology and a pledge to do better. Good CS would be saying “Our bad, here’s 3 zetas for everyone.” Those are both easy fixes but the fact they don’t care enough to do anything at all for a month is pretty shabby.

You keep saying they don't care. If they didn't care they wouldn't do anything at all - and yet they are. Just because Barb is having a measured and reasonable reaction to the situation doesn't mean he's fine with the game not running correctly. It just means that he (and plenty of others btw, myself included) doesn't feel like this is worth getting all pitch-forky over. There's a problem - CG acknowledged it - they responded - they're going to make everyone more than whole. It's not out of line for someone to wonder why people are angry about that.
This is why people defend CG - because the detractors lean so hard into emotional arguments that exaggerate and mischaracterize. If people would stick to the facts and respond proportionally to the situation it wouldn't even be a thing.

Mistakes happen, but when that happens you apologise, not in a joking way, otherwise it doesn't come across as an apology.
Like when someone fowls up and jokingly says "oops, my bad", that doesn't come across as sincere
Otherwise yes, the light-hearted/dad jokeness of new toon posts etc is fine, but there's a time and a place

No, I am ok with how he communicates. As a matter of fact, I prefer it over clinical, scripted, unpersonal communication. At least it shows that it doesn't come from a bot or AI and he personally made the effort to write it.

Wouldn't change that it is not a human/the CM making the effort to communicate with the players.

I’m not being emotional, nor am I exaggerating or mischaracterizing things. I’m simply expressing my opinion that there are far too many bugs in the game and a very lackadaisical attitude towards correcting them and expressing sincere remorse for allowing them to occur. This “game” isn’t a labor of love created as a volunteer project by Star Wars fans, it’s a revenue stream for a large game company. Their salaries are paid by the money from our pockets and we have a reasonable expectation that things will run smoothly and when they don’t prompt and satisfactory correction will occur. I honestly feel like there are people on this forum that if CG came and burned their houses down would say “Wow, what a great company…they really want me to get outside and get fresh air!”. If CG would make an effort towards prompt, satisfactory resolution this situation wouldn’t even be a thing.
